Plain-English summary — the short version
- We collect what we need to book and pay for your service: contact info, address, booking details, and (for workers) clock-in/out location for mileage.
- We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles payment, we only keep the card brand and last 4 digits.
- We text you booking and application updates through Twilio. Reply STOP anytime to opt out.
- We don't sell your data. We only share it with the service providers (Stripe, Twilio, Supabase) that help us run the Platform.

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Upstar Services LLC ("Upstar," "we," "us") collects through upstarservices.com and our worker/specialist apps (together, the "Platform"), how we use it, and your choices.
2. What we collect
- Contact & account info: name, phone number, email address, home or service address.
- Booking details: services requested, scheduling, notes, pricing, and messages exchanged in the app.
- Payment info: your payment card is handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We never store your full card number — we only retain the card brand and last 4 digits for your reference.
- Worker location: for crew members using the worker app, we collect GPS location only at clock-in and clock-out, used solely to calculate mileage for pay. We do not collect continuous or background location data. If you choose to set a Home base in the app, that location is stored and used solely to calculate your commute mileage pay.
- Photos: profile and work photos that specialists and providers choose to upload, which are displayed publicly on their Upstar profile.
- Messages: messages sent through the in-app messaging between customers, providers, and Upstar.
3. Why we collect it
- To provide and coordinate the services you book.
- To pay crew, LLC partners, and specialists accurately.
- To send booking, application, and account notifications (including SMS text messages).
4. SMS & text message consent
By providing your phone number when booking a service or applying to work with Upstar, you consent to receive SMS text messages from us about your booking, application, or account (sent via Twilio) — for example, arrival windows, price-adjustment approvals, and application status updates. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages. Message and data rates may apply.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us operate the Platform — never for advertising, and we never sell your data:
- Stripe to process card holds and payments.
- Twilio to send SMS notifications.
- Supabase as our hosting and database provider.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
7. Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing upstarservices@gmail.com. You can also opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP to any text.
8. Children's privacy
The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
